Once again, we are faced with tragic ancient cultural inequality: the stoning of a woman for her free choice to marry the one she loves.
Many women live today without the right to their feelings and choices, while also ‘on sexual duty’ to serve their men. This unfortunate woman was not the ONLY ONE but a mere representation of thousands (millions?) of women who suffer in (same) silence.
Let us take the opportunity to also remind everyone of the thousands (millions?) of women undergoing genital mutilation at young age with a goal of inhibiting their sexual pleasure.
We must continue to raise awareness, and advocate women’s rights in any way we can.
