Vaginismus: massive ignorance within the Christian church

We are delighted to share Emily’s story, who so candidly shared her past struggles with vaginismus, and the unfortunate lack of support and misguidance from her Christian community.

Emily was cured by us in 2015, and has since become an advocate for this cause. Please read and share to enlighten as many people as possible.

Excerpts:

  • I’m sharing it because I want so badly for this topic to become normalized in Christian culture.
  • My body instinctively rejected what we were trying to do, what I was fully wanting to do, and consenting to do. I started to panic, “What is wrong with me? No one prepared me for this amount of pain!”
  • The doctor forced inside to complete the exam anyway. She said, “I don’t see or feel anything wrong with you. But you know, sex isn’t typically comfortable the first couple of times so just drink a glass of wine and relax.” Thanks, doc. If I had a nickel for every time someone suggested I “drink a glass of wine and relax,” I’d be a millionaire.
  • There is a massive ignorance concerning issues of this nature within the church. People in leadership are not typically trained how to counsel couples through these kinds of problems, because they are unaware that they even exist. I know this because I’m not just speaking about our experience.

Hello my name is Eric. I was reaching out on behalf of my girl friend which has vaginismus. I was looking to see for some insight on what some other sister that are going through this problem or by the grace of God have overcome it to share some information with us. My girlfriend has severe pain majority of the time. She wants to please God. Soo it’s hard for her to do the exercises and not feel bad. I know God provides a way and I will be able to help more once we get married. It hurts to see my partner in pain. What do you think about insertion exercises to help ? Is it bad to do alike master-bating? I have mixed thoughts and would like to hear from others. Thank you and God bless.

Your girlfriend needs to cure her vaginismus as there is no reason to suffer like that. As to masturbation, it has nothing to do with vaginal use/vaginismus. For more information, visit our website, have her speak with her doctor, etc.

Greetings! I know this is kinda off topic but I was wondering if you knew where I could get a captcha plugin for my comment form? I’m using the same blog platform as yours and I’m having trouble finding one? Thanks a lot!
