About prolapse: your internal organs that are supported by the pelvic floor – bladder, uterus, vagina, rectum, and small bowel – may have shifted from their original position and are now drooping (sinking) into the vaginal canal or the anus. In progressive stages, you may be able to feel or see a bulge at the vaginal opening or high between your legs. It happens because the pelvic floor became weak and can no longer support them.
Types of prolapse:
Rectocele – drooping of the rectum
Cystocele – drooping of the bladder
Urethrocele – drooping of the urethra (urine tube)
Uterine prolapse
Enterocele – dropping of the small bowel
Vaginal vault prolapse
